Baseball European Champions Cup 2023 in Amsterdam and Bussum commences on Tuesday

For the first time since 2018, when Rotterdam was the host, the Baseball European Champions Cup returns to the Netherlands. Last year’s runner up the Amsterdam Pirates will be organizing the event together with HCAW in Bussum, the second Dutch club in the competition.

From Tuesday, June 6 to Saturday, June 10 eight teams will compete including defending champion ASD Parma from Italy. Last year at the Champions Cup in Bonn, Germany, Parma edged out Amsterdam 7-6 in the Gold Medal Game to claim the title. The Bonn Capitals finished in third place ahead of San Marino.

In this year’s competition ASD Parma (ITA), Amsterdam Pirates (NED), Untouchables Paderborn (GER) and Draci Brno (CZE) are slotted into group A during the preliminary round. Group B features the Bonn Capitals (GER), HCAW (NED), Arrows Ostrava (CZE) and Rouen Huskies (FRA).

Following the first round the top two teams from each pool qualify for the semi-finals on Friday. The Gold Medal Game is scheduled for Saturday at 6pm.
