The World Baseball Softball Confederation Europe (WBSC Europe) agreed with the Collecchio Baseball and Softball Club and the Italian Baseball and Softball Federation (FIBS) to host the European Massimo Romeo Softball Youth Trophy until 2025.

Collecchio, Italy, is confirmed to be the home of the European Massimo Romeo Youth Trophy (EMRYT) in 2023, 2024, and 2025. The U-13 European Cup will be hosted in Italy for the next three years thanks to an agreement with the local club and the Italian National Federation.

Since the first edition in 2012, the Collecchio Baseball and Softball Club has hosted the youth festival, providing exceptional events and experiences for all the young athletes and their coaches.

WBSC Europe Softball Vice President Gabriel Waage said: "Collecchio is the home for our most important development tool: the Massimo Romeo Trophy. Kids go there from all over Europe to live this incredible experience. I want to thank the club in Collecchio, its municipality, and the Italian Federation for providing hospitality and the greatest organisation!".

The Board from Collecchio Baseball and Softball Club commented: "We are honored by the trust that WBSC Europe showed us awarding EMRYT to our city. We will strive, together with the Municipality, to offer the girls and boys who come to Collecchio an experience that is not only sporting but also cultural and social."

Apart from a break in 2020 and 2021, EMRYT took place every year since 2012. In 2018, the event counted as many as 18 teams reaching the goal to be a sports festival for the European youth.

In 2022, Seleccion Navarra (ESP) won the future division trophy, while Italy 1 (ITA) took home gold in the sport division..

The event is named after Massimo Romeo, Softball Europe Hall of Famer and development enthusiast.
