The Italian Squad conquered the twelfth European Title at the Women's Softball European Championship 2021.

The Kingdom of the Netherlands started strong, scoring three runs at the top of the first inning. Britt Vonk got walked by the Italian starting pitcher Cecchetti and scored on a single by Jessie Van Aalst. Van Dalen pushed Van Aalst home with a double in front of the left outfielder and then scored on a single by Mariëlle Vleugels.

The Italian attack reacted right away: the leadoff Andrea Howard hit a long home run in center field to get the game to 3-1.

The Azzurre come back on the bottom of the second, scoring three runs to take the lead of the Championship game, 4-3. Longhi tripled to the right side and scored on a single by Elisa Cecchetti. After a change in the cycle for the Orange, Carosone singled pushing home Elisa Cecchetti and Giulia Koutsoyanopulos. 

On the bottom of the fourth, Andrea Howards hit the second home run of her night, taking home Koutsoyanopulos, previously hit by pitch. With Carosone on first base, Piancastelli also hit a long home run to left center, taking the lead of the Italian squad 8-3.

Italy managed to increase the lead by one more run, thanks to Ricchi's single to right field, pushing home Giulia Longhi, for the ninth run.

On the top of the seventh, Netherlands tried to come back. Dinet Oosting singled up the middle and Laura Wissink homered to deep left center, taking the Orange closer to Italy, 5-9.

Italian pitcher Alexia La Catena closed up with one strikeout and one flyout, securing the win for Team Italia, 5-9. 

This is the twelfth title for Italy the Women's Softball European Championship 2021.

Bronze Medal Game

The Czech Softball National Team takes bronze for the fourth time at the Women's Softball European Championship (2021, 2015, 2013, 2009). 

The first hit of the Bronze Medal Game arrived at the second inning when the Czech leadoff of the inning Gabriela Slabá singled up in the middle but only managed to arrive in third. 

At the bottom of the fifth, Barbora Saviola and Veronika Klimplová singled, and Veronika Pecková reached on a fielder's choice. With bases loaded, Jana Furková tripled to the right center (2RBIs).

The game ended 2-0 for the Czech squad, securing the bronze medal.

After the 0-2 loss against the Czech Republic, Israel ranked fourth at the Women's Softball European Championship as the best result ever for the Israeli National Team.
