Italy wins the bronze medal game and the ticket for the WBSC World Cup

The Czech national team started strong scoring twice in the first inning: Leadoff Magdaléna KAVANOVÁ walked, and was pushed to third by a double of Veronika KLIMPLOVÁ. Gabriela SLABÁ hit on the first base, allowing Magdaléna KAVANOVÁ to score. A single by the Czech ace Veronika PECKOVà pushed KLIMPLOVÁ home for the second run.

The Italian reached right away: Amanda FAMA sent one over the fence in left field. In the second inning, the Italian tied the game thanks to two hits (CECCHETTI Elisa and Giulia LONGHI) and two walks (VIGNA Laura and EDWARDS Sarah).

EDWARDS walked again in the fourth, just like Giulia KOUTSOYANOPULOS after her. Fabrizia MARRONE singled to push EDWARDS on third base who later scored thanks to Amanda FAMA's hit with bases loaded.

In the fifth, with bases loaded, the Italian captain Giulia LONGHI hit a pop on the center field, allowing Anita BARTOLI, running for Mc Kenzie BARBARA, to score the fourth run to make it 4-2, the final result.

By winning the bronze medal game, the Italian squad secured the spot in the first stage of the WBSC Women's Softball World Cup.
