Parma wins European Champions Cup 2022 in Bonn, Germany

ASD Parma has won the Men’s Baseball European Champions Cup 2022 in Bonn, Germany. They defeated L&D Amsterdam 7-6 in an exciting final game on Saturday evening at the Rheinaue ballpark. It was the 15th title for Parma in the history of the European Cup Baseball and the second in a row. The hosting Bonn Capitals finished in third place after beating ASD San Marino 6-3 in the bronze medal match. Earlier in the day Curacao Neptunus Rotterdam claimed seventh place with a 10-8 win over the VOITH Heidenheim Heidekoepfe in the tenth inning. Arrows Ostrava and Draci Brno finished tied for fifth place.

L&D Amsterdam and ASD Parma reach Final at European Champions Cup in Bonn

Dramatic fourth day at the Men’s Baseball European Champions Cup 2022 in Bonn, Germany on Friday. In the end L&D Amsterdam and ASD Parma will play in the final on Saturday at 7pm. Amsterdam defeated ASD San Marino 13-9 in a high-scoring semi-final. In the evening game on Friday Parma edged out a strong host Bonn Capitals by a score of 6-5 after ten innings. Bonn and San Marino will play the game for third place at 3pm. Meanwhile the VOITH Heidenheim Heidekoepfe will take on Curacao Neptunus Rotterdam in the game for seventh place. Arrows Ostrava and Draci Brno will finished tied for fifth after winning the relegation round games on Friday.

Tiebreaker needed to determine Preliminary Round Standings at European Champions Cup

The preliminary round at the Men’s Baseball European Champions Cup in Bonn, Germany is almost over. Only the suspended game from Tuesday between ASD San Marino and Curacao Neptunus needs to be completed, as the score is tied 5-5 after eight innings. The outcome will reveal the standings in Group B, which currently has San Marino on top with a 2-0 record following an extra-inning win over host Bonn Capitals. Bonn and Curacao Neptunus had two games each on Thursday, splitting them for 2-1 and 1-1 records in the standings. In Group A the team quality balance was needed to break the tie between L&D Amsterdam, ASD Parma and the VOITH Heidenheim Heidekoepfe. Amsterdam beat Parma 12-4 to win the tiebreaker with Parma coming in second after a 12-0 shutout over Heidenheim. Draci Brno and Arrows Ostrava had to settle for fourth place in both groups.

Walk-Off Grand Slam for Bonn as rain continues to damp Champions Cup

Similar to day one at the Men’s Baseball European Champions Cup rain also played a huge role on the second day of the competition in the preliminary round. At early afternoon two games were called earlier due to rain with L&D Amsterdam and ASD San Marino reaching the win column with shutouts over Draci Brno respective Arrows Ostrava. Ostrava then took on the hosting Bonn Capitals, which also featured lengthy rain delays, but eventually was finished with Bonn winning by a score of 6-3 on a walk-off grand slam. The game between ASD Parma and the VOITH Heidenheim Heidekoepfe got suspended due to rain in the third inning.

Champions Cup gets underway until the Rain came

The Men’s Baseball European Champions Cup 2022 in Bonn, Germany got underway on Tuesday with the first games of the preliminary round. In Group A ASD Parma celebrated a commanding win over Draci Brno and the VOITH Heidenheim Heidekoepfe came back in the ninth inning to beat L&D Amsterdam. In Group B the game between Curacao Neptunus and ASD San Marino got suspended with the score at 5-5 after eight innings due to rain. The evening game between the Bonn Capitals and Arrows Ostrava got postponed.
